I hope the mods don't mind me posting this but I know that a lot of people have trouble posting pics so I thought I would try and help!!
Ask away if you don't understand!

Firstly you need to set up a photobucket account to host your pictures. This is a place where you upload your pictures to and it stores them on the web.
You can join photobucket by clicking on the 'join now' button at the top right of the page.
Alternatively you can use the account I have set up for us to use. User name: understandinganimals Password: pu55ycat

Once you have signed in to photobucket you will see this page. Click on the top 'browse' button.

This should then pop up.
Find your photo, select it by clicking on it and then click the 'open' button at the bottom right of the window.

You will now see this, Click on 'UPLOAD'

After a short while (depending on the size of the photo and your connection speed) it will tell you that the photo has been uploaded. Scroll down and you will see your picture. It will be displayed like this.

You may need to resize your image if it is too big, if so please see my second post in this thread

You need to click in the box labelled IMG Code. Right click with the mouse and then click on 'copy'

Now, in the message box on UA, you need to paste the IMG code by right clicking with your mouse and click on 'paste'

It should look like this.

Click on 'Preview' to make sure and voila, your picture should be there, in your post  Grin

If you don't understand I will try and explain it better. I do computers well, putting it into words not so well!

Resizing Photos Smiley

Above your picture in photobucket, click on 'edit'

You should see this, click on the resize button above the picture. Choose either 'Website/email' or 'Message Board'
Message board is the larger of the two but both are suitable for the forum. It will ask you to confirm your choice. Once you have done that, continue as per the directions above.

Hope this helps  Grin

Thats great & I wish I'd had this to help when I started posting pics. Got there in the end with a few helpful hints along the way but this will be really helpful for new members, a lot of whom seem to have problems posting their kitty pics.

Karma coming your way Starpoi for your efforts? Cheesy

That's very helpful to newbies, and would be good if the Mods could sticky it. Smiley

What a lovely thing to do, Starpoi.  May I suggest the mods. sticky it at the top of EACH forum - incl. Members Only - as people often do have problems posting pictures?
