Oh these posts are really really sad, I am so sorry for all of you missing a loved furry baby.
When my cat went missing (he was actually my neighbours cat that adopted me) the family couldnt look after him through one thing or another - (mainly through running after pregnant teenagers) anyway I took him over to my parents house in Liverppol (from Wallasey) and he stayed upstairs in my brother's room as mum n dad had got two cats Tipsy and Matey and we thought they may fight.
My brother stupidly left his bedroom window open and Bu got out and jumped on the conservatory roof. I heard a thud but though No way would my brother be so daft as to open a window with Bu there so I didn't check it out.
In the morning I was sick with worry and lived on ciggarettes and tea. I went out and called him and nothing. I had posters made and put an advert in the local paper that cost 126.00 pounds, and advertied in the free paper too.
I rang the vets up but would not ring the COUNCIL for obvious reasons. I went out at night calling him. Put posters up in telephone boxes etc but nothing.. I dont know what made me do it but I even wrote to June Brown (Dot in Eastenders) to ask for her advice.
10 days went by and nothing - until the evening time and then I got a phone call - someone had spotted Bu and described him - it was him BUT she was terrified of cats but the kind woman opened her kitchen door and Bu meowed - it was definetely him.
She got him in the kitchen and then shut the door so he couldnt get out and asked me to come over, but I was in Wallasey as it was the evening time.
My father was on his way out and I rang him so he cancelled his billiard match and went round and fetched BU back and my brothers friend who had a car brought him back to me
In the time that Bu was being brought back to Wallasey I got another phone call and I spoke to this lady who asked me had I lost a little cat and I said well i had done but he was being returned to me, and who was speaking and she said JUNE BROWN.
To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement she had taken the time out to see how I was and if Bu had been returned. She told me she too had lost her cat and was very sympathetic. She is a lovely caring person and helps a lot of animals.
So there are happy endings but just don't give up. Keep going out (at night) and calling your furry and go round to neighbours houses and ask them to look in their sheds etc. Just dont give up.
Thinking of you all right now

and wishing you every success of finding your beloved furry babies
